About me
Rick Boeijen
With over three decades of experience, I have acquired extensive expertise in building successful international businesses. My speciality lies in supporting companies aiming to accelerate their international growth. Through my hands-on approach, I temporarily strengthen your management team, restructure processes, and ensure your company is primed for scalable expansion after my departure.
I began my career as a market developer in South America for a Dutch multinational. Following this role, I returned to Europe, where I held sales and marketing management positions at Ericsson and the HILTI Group in both Germany and the Netherlands. I built a strong reputation for driving business development through strategic brand building and international expansion.
As one of the Netherlands’ first e-commerce pioneers, I led the successful launch of Dressmart, an online retailer specializing in high-end fashion. Through innovative marketing strategies and key partnerships with top-tier brands, I played a crucial role in expanding the company into seven European countries. As part of the management team, I helped grow Dressmart from 12 to 120 employees, establishing it as the first pan-European online fashion retailer.
After four and a half years in the ICT sector as an entrepreneur, I returned to the building materials sector. Initially, I served as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) at Svedex, where I successfully repositioned the company in the German market and led a major acquisition. Later, I became International Business Director at Xidoor, a leading European manufacturer of interior door solutions.
Under my leadership, Xidoor expanded its presence to over 22 countries and achieved an annual revenue of €160 million. I headed the international sales division and served on the Xidoor board for more than 12 years.
Today, I am active as an independent C-level executive, leveraging my expertise for innovative companies with international growth ambitions. As a senior executive or management team member, I employ a hands-on approach to sustainably scaling businesses internationally. In addition to my executive roles, I serve as a board advisor, commissioner, and scale-up coach. In my role as a coach, I guide innovative organisations in accelerating their expansion into European and international markets.

My approach is centred on collaboration, speed, and sustainable results. As a temporary member of your team, I work closely with all departments within the organisation to deliver immediate impact. Whether it’s developing a strategy or implementing it in practice, I create buy-in and engagement, ensuring everyone feels part of the success.

This approach was shaped by my experience as an early international dotcom entrepreneur, where I developed the art of rapid scaling. I later refined and applied this approach within traditional companies and as a coach for innovative scale-ups.
